However, these charges are easily avoidable as long as you fill up your dumpster properly.

How Do I Rent a Dumpster in Tampa?

Preparing for a Dumpster Rental

Getting prepared for a dumpster rental isn't difficult, but there are a few things you should know. We've put together a guide to explain how to rent a roll-off container, but you can also follow the steps below.

In Tampa, Florida, a dumpster permit may be required depending on the location and placement of the dumpster. If the dumpster is being placed on public property, such as a street or sidewalk, a permit is typically required. However, if the dumpster is being placed on private property, such as a driveway or parking lot, a permit may not be required. Use our handy dumpster permit tool to determine if you need to obtain one in your area before your rent a container.

To obtain a dumpster permit in Tampa, you will need to submit an application to the city's building department or the public works department. The application can be found on the city's official site and will typically require information about the location and placement of the dumpster, as well as the duration of the rental period. You may also need to provide proof of insurance and pay a fee for the permit.

Once you've checked if you need a dumpster permit, the next step is to select the appropriate type of dumpster for your needs. There are three factors to consider when choosing a dumpster: the dumpster's size, the materials that you will be disposing of, and the total weight of your debris.

The first factor to consider is the dumpster's size. It's essential to choose the right size for the amount of garbage you need to dispose of. Please note that our trucks can't carry dumpsters with debris sticking over the top, so it's very important to select the correct size for your amount of waste.

The second factor is the type of material you'll be discarding. Different materials have varying dumping fees, so it's important to choose a dumpster for your specific material types and to only dispose of that material in the bin. For instance, if you order a construction dumpster you can mix materials like drywall and wood together in it, but you cannot mix in green waste. Please consult us if you need assistance in deciding the type of dumpster you need.

Lastly, the weight limit is another important factor. If you believe you will have a lot of heavy debris, choose a higher limit to avoid any weight overage fees when the dumpster is transported to dumping facilities. Additionally, if you have lightweight items, choose a lower limit to avoid paying for weight that you won't be using.

When you rent a dumpster, you also should consider how long you will need it. Make sure to choose a period that is long enough so that you can easily discard your waste for the duration of your entire project.

Our rental periods start with a complimentary 14 days packaged into your rental price. If you need a dumpster for longer than those two weeks, you can reach out to us for an extension and pay a low daily rate for each additional day. Make sure to always let us know if you need an extension otherwise we will come pick up the dumpster as soon as the two-week rental period is up.

Once you have figured out permits, dumpster details, and your rental period, the next step is to order your dumpster! We provide our customers with several different ways to order, including our convenient online portal. With our online checkout, you can order from wherever, whenever. If you prefer to order by phone, we have the best customer service representatives available from 7 am to 7 pm, seven days a week.

The last step of preparing for your dumpster rental is to determine where you want your dumpster placed on your property, and clear that area of any obstacles. Our containers are delivered on roll-off trucks that need about 60 feet of clearance space in front of your desired drop-off location to place the dumpster down properly. Make sure there are no low-hanging branches above the dumpster drop-off location as well.
