Our Story

Sourgum's roots stretch back to 1897, when Joe and Luciano DiNardi's great-grandfather immigrated from Italy and began collecting waste with a horse and buggy.

For over a century, their family has been embedded in the waste and recycling industry, owning and operating collection companies, disposal sites, and specialized waste diversion facilities across four generations.

Before founding Sourgum, Joe and Luciano worked nearly every job in the industry. From the back of garbage trucks and answering customer calls to running hauling operations and disposal facilities, they saw how every part of the business works.

That experience showed them everything the industry gets right, and everything it gets wrong: the inefficiencies that drive up costs, the outdated systems that frustrate customers, and the sustainability efforts that too often lack real impact.

Sourgum was created to change that.

Built with the goal of doing for waste what Amazon did for retail, Sourgum is transforming the industry through transparency, reliability, and technology.
