Why Is It Called a 10-Yard Dumpster?

A 10-yard dumpster is called such because it has a volume of 10 cubic yards. A cubic yard is an industry-standard unit of measurement that is equal to 3 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet, or 27 cubic feet. This means that a 10 cubic yard dumpster is equal to 270 cubic feet, or 3 x 3 x 3 x 10.

Similarly, it is called a 20-yard dumpster because its volume is 20 cubic yards or 3 x 3 x 3 x 20 = 540 cubic feet.

A 30-yard dumpster is called that because its volume is 30 cubic yards or 3 x 3 x 3 x 30 = 810 cubic feet.

A 40-cubic yard dumpster is called that because its volume is 40 cubic yards or x 3 x 3 x 40 =1080 cubic feet.

How Much Does a 10-Yard Dumpster Cost?

The 10-yard dumpster rental pricing starts at $305. The price is affected by location, material, and weight. Our pricing is transparent—costs already include delivery, pickup, and dumping fees so you can focus on the job at hand.

Pricing changes from county to county as each sets its own disposal rates. This is the main driver of the price.

The material you need to dispose of also affects the price. Different materials can have different disposal rates as well.

How to Prepare for Dumpster Delivery and Pickup

Choose the Right Location

  • Choose a location that’s clear of foot traffic, parked vehicles, and walkways. Placing the dumpster in a low-traffic area helps reduce safety risks and keeps your project moving efficiently.

  • Make sure there is enough open space for delivery, free of obstacles like overhead wires, low-hanging branches, or other obstructions that could interfere with drop-off or pickups.

Prepare for Pickup

  • When your project is finished and the time comes for the dumpster to be picked up, ensure that the top of the dumpster is evened out to ensure there are no objects sticking out of the container.

  • If you’re unsure whether you've exceed the included weight limit, contact our team before pickup. We’re happy to help estimate and make sure you’re set up with the right container.

Make Your Dumpster Accessible

  • On pickup day, remove any parked vehicles or obstacles that may block the truck's access to the dumpster.

  • If your dumpster is located behind a gate or in a restricted area, make sure it is unlocked and accessible. Once the driver has clear access, we’ll handle the rest.
