Burlington County provides its residents with curbside recycling. The following items can be placed in your recycling container to avoid sending them to the landfill:

• Paper

• Flattened cardboard

• Plastic bottles and food containers

• Glass bottles and jars

• Metal cans

• Cartons

The following items cannot be recycled:

• Plastic bags

• Plastic wrap or newspaper sleeves

• Tanglers – hoses, cords, or wire hangers

• Plastic plant pots, pill bottles, or flat plastic (like trays and lids)

• Aluminum foil or trays

• Hardback books, food-soiled or frozen food boxes

• Bulbs, glassware, or window glass

• Motor oil, paint, pesticide containers, or propane tanks

• Plastics #3, #4, #6, or #7

• Styrofoam

• Loose caps or any hot or cold drinking cups/straws

• Batteries

Burlington County also recommends the following recycling tips, which can be found in their recycling bin guide.

• No shredded paper (shredded paper is too small to sort; it just jams the equipment and ultimately ends up in the trash)

• Flatten boxes

• Remove and throw away Styrofoam and plastic wrap

• Empty and rinse all containers

• Do NOT flatten aluminum cans

• No need to remove any labels

• Your municipal recycling drop-off is available for overflow
